The Sprite has 24 speeds and 8 ranges. The very wide standard gear range is from 7 to 102 gear inches, which makes it suitable for most persons and almost all terrain, including very steep hills.
The Sprite has a built-in cargo area, and comes with a cargo sling with 75# capacity as standard. It accepts mirror and fenders. It will accept a front fairing (good for cold-weather riding). The convertible canopy top (for protection from rain and sun) is also accommodated.
Bottom bracket (the rotational center of the pedal crankset) height is 17″ (43cm) above the ground. This puts the pedal center 3 inches below the seat (less for shorter riders, more for taller), creating a moderately reclined (40 degree from the vertical seat-back) semi-recumbent body position. We have learned over the years that this position is one that almost all people can use, and is in a zone that the large majority of riders will find to be very relaxed and comfortable.
Our standard crank-arms are 170mm in length. For riders under 5'4″ (160cm) in height with ordinary body proportions, this length of crank requires an increasingly deep bend of the knees as height diminishes. If you are under 5'4″, we recommend a customized crankset with 150mm crank-arms.
